Looking 2 buy 2 year old Ford Fiesta from Ford Dealer.

I can pay for an extended 3 year Warranty. Is it worth it? I have read the small print and don't really know what is being protected? Wear & tear, accidents are not covered so what is covered??

The Ford dealer does a full service and inspection of the car plus ensure there is not a higher purchase outstanding on the car. Should I pay extra for my own AA or RAC inspection to do the same checks? I am just thinking that AA and RAC are independent and would tell me if something is wrong we're the Ford dealer may not.

Thanks

Put the £800 in a savings account. There you now have your own warranty fund and in three years time you will still have most of the £800 left.

Is it a proper Ford warranty? If not dont bother unless you want to cover items that do not wear out or break.

What would you expect to find wrong on a 2 year old car? Your more likely to find faults within the 1st few weeks of ownership.

Is this the one thats £1000 overpriced?

Is it a Ford warranty or is is provided by some other company?

The manufacturer warranties are the only ones worth anything at all. All the others will exclude anything likely to actually break.

The Fiesta has a year left of the original 3 year Ford warranty anyway. Pointless paying for something you already have.

It's a warranty by a ford dealer. It starts when the ford 3 year warranty runs out. Cost is £899.

Is it actually a Ford warranty from a Ford dealer, or are the Ford dealer just reselling Warranty Direct or similar.

This is important as if it's not the Ford warranty then don't even consider buying it.

£899 for a warranty?? Are you mad?

Why not buy a brand new car?

Overpriced 2 year old car + £899 must be close to brand new car money.

Here... 12 miles on the clock....

  • The link you've given says:-

Ford Direct is the safe and easy way to buy a nearly new Ford. To give you complete peace of mind, all our cars are prepared to stringent Ford safety and quality standards, as well as being inspected and approved by the RAC. Every vehicle comes with a two year unlimited mileage warranty and two years’ Ford Assistance roadside recovery.

So are they trying to sell you an extra year for £899?????

Stick the money in the bank - think you would be unlucky to have nine hundred quids worth of repairs in the third year.
  • Just seen your other thread - if this is in addition to the other overpriced fiesta you looked at then you really need to try another dealer - they appear to be taking you for a ride
