I think this will be a question from a lot of people on how to get round the tax ,who have never declared anyone staying with them to the benefits office, and who are now being hit with the bedroom tax.

Really??? Our council has just accepted her council tax exemption letter from Uni, and she remains on our claim, with zero deductions. No fuss or anything just took the letter over, they copied it and applied it to our account.

I think you'll be paying either way- either they will accept he lives with you, in which case you won't have too many bedrooms but he will be expected to pay part of the rent and your benefit will be adjusted accordingly, or they won't, meaning you will have too many rooms and have to pay for the spare one. There isn't a way to avoid paying altogether.
