wallpaper paste and carrot seeds?

I understand that it is possible to sow small seed like carrot thinly and well spaced by mixing it in wallpaper paste and piping from a plastic bag into seed drills. The problem is that the paste has to be fungicide free which seems impossible to find nowadays.:(

Could you not use something else with a similar texture? I'm thinking something like Smash, made up to be a bit sloppy ... Or even some cornflour or arrowroot cooked up in some water until it's the right texture. I suppose it depends how much you want though :)

Well actually I was considering using home made seed strips where a length of suitable paper either toilet tissue or newspaper is cut into strips, then the tiny seed is glued at the correct spacings by placing dabs of paste made from flour and water and placing the seeds into it but I was put off from using that method for fear of mice getting scent of the flour and eating the seed. I would think that smash or even cornflour would possibly attract unwanted attention from vermin.

    Here you go:

Used this stuff for years with kids, and it still seems to be available. :)
Cornflour with boiling water also works.

Yes but as I say I am worried that the smell of the flour may attract mice onto the scene.
