Advice please, new central heating quote

Hi all,

My studio flat currently has no central heating.

I would like a a combi boiler and 3 rads. One rad in kitchen (which is approx 2.5m x 2m), one in the main room (approx 4.5m x 4.5 m), and one in the bathroom (approx 2.5m x 1.5m).

I would also like the old water heater and water tank removed.

I am in the Herts area.

British Gas just quoted £4,000, the boiler being a Worcester 28i. Phew!

What is a reasonable price?

You may be able to halve that figure.

You will need about 3 rads and a combi. I don't know the prices of boilers off hand but I fitted a similar sized CH system in a 1 bed house a couple of years ago.

Approx prices were;

Boiler £350 - non condensing Caffateux Britony
Rads 3 costing around £200 for all
Pipes, valves etc probably around £250
Cost for boiler to be installed by Corgi Registered pumber £250

Total materials and subcon services £1050. I did all the non gas plumbing myself.
