Left a job recently.
My 2nd to last payslip -
'Holidays taken to date - 13 days'
'Holidays accrued to date - 18 days'
Final payslip -
'Holiday pay - 5 units' at a rate of roughly £27 per unit (the 5 holiday days above)
'Leavers Holiday - 2.83 units' at the same rate as holiday pay rate.
'Holidays taken to date - 18 days'
'Holidays accrued to date - 19 days'
So basically I accrued another holiday day on receipt of my last payslip. I phoned the company but they said that this pay was covered by the 'leavers holiday' pay.
This company have underpaid me frequently in the past (most of which I recovered) but they would often underpay me by a few hours so I'm not trusting of them. I mean technically I don't see why I'm not entitled to another unit of holiday pay at just under £27.
Any thoughts? Are they probably right or are they bluffing to save themselves a few quid?

Your employer seems to be saying that one unit of 'Leavers Holiday - 2.83 units' is to cover the extra day accrued, so is 1.83 units a leaving bonus or something?
What do you think 'Leavers Holiday - 2.83 units' is then?
As an aside, there is an employment board...

Ye I know it's probably not the right place in here - but this forum is so big with so many subforums you have to spend 5 minutes looking for the right one. The layout doesn't help either cas it's not easy on the eyes.
I haven't got a clue .. probably should have asked.0 -
Surely they've over paid you by 1.83 units of holiday pay, not under paid you? 18 days taken + 2.83 leavers holiday = 20.83 days, no?
Have you worked out what you should have been entitled to?

I think they give that leavers holiday to everyone.0 -
Maybe they do.I think they give that leavers holiday to everyone.
Maybe they say "we can't be bothered to work out exactly how much holiday is outstanding so here is something that we are sure will cover it".
Maybe they don't do that at all though.
Until you ask your ex-employer, I fear you will never know.0
