Nexus 7 - scratch on a 'scratch-resistant' glass!?

Yesterday, I have just noticed that my nexus have got a scratch on the screen :mad:
It stated on the specification that it is a 'scratch-resistant' glass!! And that's why I haven't be bother to get a screen protector.
I am now getting a screen protector to avoid further damage...

    Key word is in bold, it is resistant to scratching not scratch proof.

    The back of my iPhone 4's scratch resistant glass got scratched on day one, no idea how, 2 years later and it doesnt have any more scratches at all.

    Screen protectors are sensible precaution (though one I dont take)

    "Resistant" is not "Proof". It just means it is "less likely" to scratch through normal use, but gouging it with a pen or other sharp implement (even a nail) may still cause a scratch.

    I never took ours out of the clear wrapping it came in until I got a screen protector. :)
