Looking For A Cheap DVD Player

I'm after a cheapo DVD player that will play anything - I've heard the cheaper ones are better at this than the more expensive one.
Any recommendations ? Thanks guys;)

I would point out that this will not play DivX (the video equivalent of mp3) - and in fact none of the really cheap ones will. Amazon do DivX dvd players as well at about £40.

Coolagarry Thanks for the reply but the first review put me off - just what I'm trying to avoid

I would not recommend this DVD player, on the basis it tends to be rather selective in deciding which DVDs it will play. Whilst it now claims to be multi-region, mine only works on region 2. And only on original disks - not copies. And it's slow

The region 2 bit doesn't bother me but the rest does.

I have used cheap cyberhome,phillips and proline players, all seem to play dvd-r/+r films ok!

Multi Region out of the box and plays mp3/Divx as well as all the normal stuff. I've got it connected to the HIFI and it doubles up as a CD player.


If you don't want to buy over the net, Argos always have cheapies in stock, but the very best bargains seem to be on the net.
