Fairly certain that very few women would opt for a skirt, stockings and no knickers unless it was ENTIRELY for a man's benefit...!0 -

Possibly, but it worked for her and it was entirely for her own benefit. It doesn't have to be a short skirt and socks will do just as well. It was her doctor that suggested it.0 -
Part of the VPL problem is badly fitting undies. If the undies are the right size, they shouldn't show. I wear "apple catchers" to work, as I need to be comfy (for my own sanity). As they fit properly, there's no VPL.
Then again, if your DD wants to keep the infections and the pain/discomfort, let her carry on0 -
Yes, getting the fit right is an issue.
She has size ten hips but id hazard a guess that the buttocks belong to a size fourteen body! She still says she need size ten briefs, no wonder they dig in indeed.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Ah, the old sizing issue. How about you buy her some larger sized undies (thongs, even) and cut the size label out? Wearing too small undies is very uncomfortable. I know a lot of girls who refuse to buy clothing in a better fitting size just because they "don't want to be a size bigger". They're forgetting that sizes vary so much between shops. In some shops, a size 6 fits me, whereas in another shop I might have to try up to size 12 before I find a good fit. Good luck trying to convince your DD that sizes vary, especially if she's a teenager - they don't want to listen to such rubbish from parents0

cant the doctor use a scare tactic to get her to stop?
How on earth is she comfy suffering from UTI's constantly with round the clock use of antibiotics?
surely she's setting herself for permanent problems?
no love of thongs is worth risking your health.0 -
i'm certainly not in favour of doctors using 'scare tactics' on women (!!), she's an adult she can do as she pleases. But it does seem odd that she'd rather have a water infection than change to a different set of underwear. Maybe a compromise, like wearing the thongs occasionally, and wearing those no VPL knickers during the day. No-one's going to know what knickers you're wearing :rotfl:, why not be comfy during the day.
Fwiw I honestly can't see the attraction of thongs. I think they are the most unattractive and uncomfortable things, even without the hygiene issue.0
