If you read your policy you will see something along the lines of "all excesses" under the exclusions from cover.
  • Thanks

I just spoke to them and they said the excess would be paid back if the liability goes with the other person. If we are 20% liable then we will pay 20% of the excess. Just as someone posted here the other day.

So i will get paid out less the excess and when the liabilty is agreed i will get some of the excess back.

    Could take 90 days though!
  • Back again for another bit og help - please.

insurance have agreed the £1900. The excess will get taken out of this until the liability is agree - with with this.

However they have said i will need to pay, out of the settlement, the remaining 7 months insurance. This means i will owe them money.

Ok i think i get that bit but i am confused about this - she said if i replaced my car within 14 days then the insurance will continue. Meaning i wont have to pay unless the premium on the new car comes to more than £1000. I need to get this clarifiied but fidning it all confusing. If i dont get another car within 14 days - i owe them £148 which will be the rest of the premiums.

Does this sould correct to people?

    Thanks

    Yes.

Double check how your excess will be reimbursed. Usually you have to do this yourself by claiming off the third party (or using any legal cover insurance you have to do it for you)
  • Yes, I've just been told my last two months premiums will be taken off my settlement (my car is also a total loss)
