Which PC is compatible with my Canon PIXMA MP460 Printer

Options
Hi all,
I am having to buy a new PC as mine has given up the ghost:mad: although only a couple of years old (have had to borrow a laptop),
and I would like to know which PC would be compatible with my Canon PIXMA MP460 Printer?
Any answers would be welcome.
Thanks.

What has 'given up the ghost' in your PC?

They are generally very easy to repair.

It isn't normal to consider which PC is compatible with a printer, especially one which cost £70 in 2007 (and hence potentially quite old).

The answer to that question, by the way, is any computer with a USB port, with any operating system that has the printer drivers available.

It's a long long story..........one which has cost me alot of money.

Anway I intend just to buy a new tower/base unit PC to save costs. What is the point in buying a new printer if the one I have works fine?

  • On the cannon website the Canon PIXMA MP460 has windows 7 drivers so get any computer with windows 7 and there should be no problems. Have a look at the zoostorm range on ebuyer (very good value).

What OS is your existing printer? Most modern printers will have drivers available for W7, not all for W8.
2 minutes on the Canon support site will tell you what is available for your model.

    Thanks.

as stated what do you mean given up the ghost

    HDD failure
    Processor failure
    etc.

All easy and cheaply to replace especially when PC is only 2 years old.

Answering the op. Almost any PC you buy from a retail outlet will be compatible. That is because you would find it very difficult to buy a non Windows or Mac computer and they would definitely work with canon printers. So don't worry about it.

Thanks MACMAN, ELLIOTT and THOR who have given me helpful replies.
I have now bought a zoostorm one running windows 7 from the ebuyer site. I have not heard of this brand before but researching them on the net has brought up very positive reviews.

I only hope I manage to fix it up when it arrives as apparently the instruction leaflet is not very helpful according to many buyers and of course I am only a GIRL, :rotfl::rotfl:
