EA is encouraging me to skip surveyor

Im buying a house that requires modernisation. The sellers through the EA have stated that out of the 2 buyers remaining they are likely to go with a cash buyer who will not undertake a survey.
When I asked the EA was he encouraging buyers to skip a survey, he replied in this case it was the vendor's wishes. A weak excuse especially as I pointed out that professional that line was dubious. This EA is part of a large chain.
I just wondered if anyone else had faced this pressure from an EA.
BTW its a probate sale, so the vendor doesnt own or live there.

Would you buy a used car if the car salesman was saying that they wouldn't allow you to buy it if you had the condition of the engine checked out?
The first thing I thought when I read your post was "DANGER, DANGER WILL ROBINSON, DANGER!"0 -
In any case I would never buy a house without a survey. I am currently towards the end of a purchase on the 4th property I fell for. The first three I loved but on the survey had to reconsider.
A cash buyer does not need to undertake a survey but I bet it is unlikely they will not have tradesman round etc and if he is a developer he will surely be after a very good deal.
Dont let the EA lead you to do anything. You are the one with the cash that will eventually be funding his commision.Saving needed to emigrate to Oz*September 2015*
£11,860.00 needed = £1,106 in savings

Yeah -sounds very dodgy & I would have nothing more to do with the vendor"Mrs. Pench, you've won the car contest, would you like a triumph spitfire or 3000 in cash?" He smiled.
Mrs. Pench took the money. "What will you do with it all? Not that it's any of my business," he giggled.

or the EA too <
they know full well what the reason is aswell.
There will be far more needs doing to the house than meets the eye, and you can bet its not a £10 fix neither.
Phone them up and say your surveyour is coming round on Monday just to wind them up0 -
Do you mind me asking which EA this is?Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0

Always remember when dealing with EA's that they are being paid by the Vendor so that is where their loyalty lies!!!!
He maybe telling the truth in that it may be the vendors wishes, however why would a vendor want this? I would guess that even if the EA doesnt know what the problem is the vendor will.0
