Central Heating coming on in the middle of the night! Help!

Hi all,
Wondering if anyone could help me narrow down a problem before I have to call in the professionals.
I have an Ideal Independent C24 boiler (Approx 1 year old), connected to the CH system via a Salus RT500 Wireless Programmable Thermostat. Recently the CH has started to come on at different times during the night. The boiler shows that it is being called on its display, however the Thermostat does not display any icons to indicate that it is communicating with the boiler.
Low batteries can be ruled out. The Pre-Heat option on the boiler is OFF.
Any ideas? Would love to be able to fix it myself if possible!
Thanks

According to the MI's the boiler will fire if the ambient temperature drops below 5 degs, to protect against frost damage. Is the boiler outside the normal heated living space?0

Not having looked at the MIs I would say froststat is the most likely answer.

Yes it's in a downstairs toilet. Is there an inbuilt temperature sensor on the boiler?0

Post No 2 says there is so at the risk of appearing awfully rudeBigApples84 wrote: »Yes it's in a downstairs toilet. Is there an inbuilt temperature sensor on the boiler?

Has anyone nearby got a new remote room stat recently? And when you got yours did you remove any of the plastic pegs at the back?
I say this because I got a similar set up just before christmas and spent the whole week sweltering until I set it to a different frequency - I suspect one of the neighbours had the same unit and theirs was controlling mine. I reset it and it's far more comfortable now.0 -
