clothing for repair on ebay?

Hi guys
I was searching for some clothing earlier on ebay and noticed there're quite a few clothings listed on there with titles like "jumpers/trousers for repair".
I just wonder why people would buy these things. Are they for some kind of repair/sewing practices/projects or do people buy them because they're cheaper??
The reason I ask is that I've got a couple pairs of designer trousers which either has got a rip or the stitching has come off somewhere. Don't know if anyone would be interested in buying them on ebay.
Cheers!

I've never seen that on ebay. I sew so would be interested in auctions like that but only if it was a very good brand, had a good discount and there were LOTS of information/photos of what needed repairing.
I think if you are going to list your trousers you would need to include lots of photos and make very clear in your listings that it is a defective product. I can just imagine some scammer/idiot trying to file a SNAD.0 -
I know if there is a vintage item, which is damaged, and could possibly be to far gone, they normally advertise them as 'study' pieces, which the design students love, to get ideas from etcWork to live= not live to work0

I've sold quite a few things that needed repairing....got them off a website that sold catalogue returns, sadly now closed.....but the price to return them was too much so i would sell on if i didn't like....sometimes made a good profit.i made sure I showed all faults, never had any proplems with feedback etcNever put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0
