How can you find out whether you're able to drive a certain type vehicle?

Well i wrote off to DVLA & VOSA today.

Let's be honest - if i ask to see the V5 i will get told to get back to work & that's putting it nicely.

I don't really care whether i can or can't drive it on the road. If i can then i will, if i can't then i wont. I just don't want to get into trouble for doing something i shouldn't.

There were 2 of us left the other day. I refused on grounds of not being sure i can legally do it. Another lad refused on grounds that he hasn't had his licence returned from DVLA yet (he had it taken for some reason).
The boss sent the word down that one of us HAS to take the machine on the road, no question.

The other lad decided to do it as he has actually taken a test & received a certificate for this machine whereas i've received nothing at all.

I think it's just strong arm tactics to get the job done - and it worked, because the other lad changed his mind.

My employer will probably see it as i'm trying to be difficult. I'm not - i just don't want to get in trouble with the law or lose my job.
