I don't think gifts are needed. If appropriate it might be nice for the guests to pay for brides meal and if able maybe her hotel bill but I certainly didn't get gifts on my hen night (albeit 23 years ago!) and have never bought gifts on those I have attended.

A very close (mature) friend of mine got remarried last year and we didn't buy gifts but I did buy her some funny 'dare' cards which caused quite a bit of hilarity on the night - mostly because she refused to do them :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hi
On my hen do my friends bought me yellow roses as they signify friendship.

The last hen do I went on, we didn't give the bride gifts, but each made up a silly game to play. We all took photos throughout the day and I made them into a photobook to give to the bride on her wedding day, which she loved.

Not really a gift but one of the more sedate games I bring along to Hen Parties (3 and counting... :o) is this Wedding Vows Mad Lib, it's good fun, gets everyone giggling and it makes a nice keepsake. :)

Otherwise, if you're looking for some jewellery, if she's got a charm bracelet it could be nice to buy her a special charm. :)

When I had my Hen do I made it clear that I was not to be decorated etc, my sister who organised it said for any hen gifts to be under a fiver, and to think small, silly or sentimental, in the end they all gave me a small photo of me and each of themselves in a pretty frame. They are lovely and are displayed in my bedroon.

A few yrs ago i went to a hen do where the mother of the bride dictated "no tat" We'd all paid for ourselves to go away for a weekend in Torremolinos.

It became apparent that the bride wanted trashy tat! And had an awesome time in a white morphsuit, complete with veil, L plates and junk :)

  • Altho I paid for my hotel and dinner, my "hen" worked really hard in the organisation of it all - I bought a small novelty salt & pepper pot of cuddling panda's (his & her names start with PandA). Cost about £8 and got a few giggles, just a little something rather than wedding gift.
  • How about a charm bracelet and each friend buy's a charm. They have these in Arg@s and are not to expensive as a gift.
