Barclays Account: My Girlfriend 3000£ Gift from unknown transfer.

Hi Guys!

You will not believe. 2 days ago my girlfriend has checked her bank account and realised that there is a transfer of 3000£ in her account.

I am trying to figure out where is it from ?

Its been more then 48h since then. No telephone from bank or letter. We are still waiting to find out what happens.

What you would do with it ?

Its very weird

She is tempting to spend it :) lol

Here are the details:

Transaction Type: FPS STO/ 3rd Party funds Transfer.
Reference: Transfer Internet BGC
Payment method: Credit Transaction

Put it somewhere that will earn a bit of interest until someone asks for it back, because they will eventually!

    Definately don't spend it.
    :p

agree with Beanie: if she spends it whilst knowing or reasonably suspecting it isn't 'hers' then it's theft in the eyes of the law.

Keep hold of it in a secure interest earning account.

You don't have to wait for the bank to call you.

You can call the bank and tell them that there is money in your account that doesn't belong to you.

You can ask them to remove it since you want nothing to do with it.

    Totally

And the last one whom it happened to, suddenly had their post deleted and the user removed to.

    Hmmmmm
    For everthing else there's mastercard.
    For clampers there's Barclaycard.
  • Better hope it is not a loan company with 25,000 APR.

Contact bank and ask them to trace where it came from.

Yes. Just search this board. Or the internet.

You can't be serious, especially with the piddly interest you get these days.

Anyway, you are not allowed to move money from your girlfriend's account, even if she agrees that you are using her bank account. She would be violating the T&Cs of her current account if she let you do it.
