EOn central heating care! What can I say?

  • Quick update! E.ON have finally phones to say that the parts are in and have scheduled an appointment for Tuesday 22/1/13; one would expect that after our experience, they would be out the door and falling over themselves to get this fixed within 24hrs of receiving the parts but E.ON being E.ON, thta won't be happening. I still have to cope with this weekend of heavy snow; they really are a big disgrace and I can't imagine anythign they have to say that will make me feel better. Surely they must have a policy that allows for some compensation who customers who have to experience this. I just cannot find the word to describe what I think of them. Let's just hope and pray that the boiler will work once they have been and gone; that the parts ordered are correct and that all parts have indeed been ordered.

The reason they shut my gas off was that it was dangerous due to the water leak and where the switch for the boiler was, as a result there is no GAS to my property! I have got myself a ceramic hob instead otherwise with all the family down fro Christmas, there would have been no cooking.

    Other retailers are available

I don't understand why you have not been able to use your gas hob for the last month
But if the boiler has been isolated and the water leak from it resolved (either by it being drained or by being out of service) then I cant understand why the gas cant be turned on and used for the other appliances?

Indeed Jemima but there would appear to be no reason why they couldnt just disconnect the supply to the boiler (underneath it) and cap it thus leaving you at least with a working cooker. Its common enough practice leaving aside the minor issue that independent engineers have no legal powers to disconnect your supply/boiler/hob.

EDIT just read your posting re bonus systems..still..it would have taken just as long to cap the boiler as it would to cap the meter..! It sounds like pure thoughtlessness and disregard for the customer.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

That just happens to be the case. They chose the option that was probaby easiest for them disregarding how that may have affected me.
  • maybe the e.on rep can answer why this is the 2nd thread where their engineers have put a sealing disc in the meter when they should have just capped the boiler, i see a trend emerging
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
