This comes to an end on the 16th Feb, and the EON website allows me to organise a switch on that date even if I choose a new product now.
I have been fulling expecting quite a price hike and have looked at U Switch and the prices I am being offered with EON are favorable due to my loyalty discounts.
I am looking at fixing and am unsure If I should go with a 1 year or a 2 year fixed.
The two year EON fixed plan (E.ON Energy Fixed 2 Year v3) is around a £25 a month hike in my present Bill
The second option is the one year fixed deal (E.ON Energy Fixed 1 Year v3)which comes in at around £ 20 a month more than I am paying now
So for £5 a month extra I get the fixed for 2 years, covering for 2 winters. Do you think this is worthwhile or should I just go for the one year fixed?
I also looked at the standard plan rate (EON Energy Plan) which is more expensive than both fixed rates, and of course have variable rates and I also looked at the EON Energy Discount V1 plan, which lasts for 12 months, is variable and comes in at £ 18.50 a month more than I am paying now. I am really unsure which of the 3 plans I should go for .... Thanks for any help
P.S All prices include the Jan18th Price hike. Btw - Should I submit some meter readings to EON tonight or does this not matter?

Don't restrict yourself to your existing supplier.
Use this MSE guide to find the best deal from the whole of the market

Hiya, Thanks for your reply. I have built up a lot of loyalty discounts with EON and as such it appears worthwhile me staying with them after i examined various price comparison sites and the MSE guide0

Loyalty discount? :rotfl:
How much? Up to £20? It'll probably pale into insignificance compared with savings available elsewhere (and even if not, the cashback from many suppliers will exceed the £20 on offer from Eon)
What supply region are you in (or what is the first part of your postcode)
What is your annual consumption in kWh of each fuel supplied?0 -
If you decide to switch its a good idea to do it before the 18th as you can ring them up and notify them that you are switching then they won't apply the new price or that's what its says in the T & C's then you have seven days to sign up to a new supplier to ensure the new supplier will contact them within 15 working days (ie 3 weeks). If you switch you can get say 30quid for switching for example from Energyhelpline for dual fuel.
But as everyone says compare and make a choice. For me I am just switching from EON to Co-op. Always have a look at the feedback for customer service. First Utility was the next cheapest for me but some people seem to report issues with them. Plus with the co-op I will get a dividend of a few quid as well and no strings. So thats 40quid in the bank ie. 30quid for switching and if I stay for a year probably 10quid for the dividend.:j0 -

The loyalty discount is £132.88
My postcode is BR1, I believe I come under the London region - 12
Electricity = 5135 KWH per year
Gas = 14412 KWH per year
Present bill per year = £1089.18
EON Discount V1 (Variable) = £1311.63
EON Fixed 1 Year V3 = £1333.22
EON Fixed 2 year V3 = £1381.69
EON Energy Plan (Variable) = £1385.68
This includes the discount
Thanks for your reply and help

Hi pablodiscobar
Just a quick heads up. If you enter reads through our website tonight, you can issue a bill yourself using the Real Time Billing tool.
This will make sure your usage is billed accurately right up to tomorrow's price increase.
If you're due a bill, just entering the readings will trigger one. However, if you're not due a bill, your readings will be recorded but not used for billing unless you request one as above.
Hope this makes sense. Give me a shout if not clear or if you need any more details.
