Im very excited for you...how sad am i?! I wouldn't ask either , even though i would be going mad thinking about how much it would be. Just wait for your £10 cheque and be pleasantly surprised when it comes and its a lot more.......and don't forget to tell us how much you got!

If you are told it's going to be a large amount it is very easy to start spending before you get it - if you know what I mean - that coat in the window lookes nice, ooh that holiday looks nice etc etc. Before long you may find yourself with a lot of personal debt to pay now but the money could be at least months if not a year or more away.
I would agree with the above poster - forget it for now and when it comes enjoy it.
  • A friend of mine was left some money by someone who wasn't even a relation; she did ask if they had any idea of how much it was likely to be and was told that they couldn't tell her at that stage.

So it may be that they maybe can't tell you anyway yet.

    I personally would ask!

    (FYI,my friend's inheritance was over £100,000!) .

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
