Tesco pet insurance and cruciate ligament repairs

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone insured their pet with tescos.
We have a very large and clumsy Labrador, who a couple of years ago started limping badly, the vet put it down to hip dysplasia and we were going to do hip surgery, at a last minute x ray they decided it was cruciate ligament damage and put a metal plate in his knee.
I'm now getting concerned that he might damage the other knee and wondered whether the insurance would pay out on it as he's had the same injury already. Or will they treat it as a new caseas it's on a different leg?
Has anyone else experienced this kind of thing??
Thanks

Not a pet insurance expert but assuming there is no underlying medical condition (rather than just being clumsy) that caused the prior ligament damage then new damage to a different ligament would be unconnected. Given your concerns however I would check with the insurer in question and validate my thinking0

Our dog has had cruiciate ligament surgery on both knees at a cost of £1750 per knee. Both paid for by Tesco.
We were told by the vet after the first knee that it was common for the other ligament to go after the first, so it was no surprise when two years later she required further surgery.
Tesco have been great, she is the most expensive mongrel we have ever had 3.5K knees, and 2.5K for dentistry, we only pay £10.00 per month for the insurance

Wow only £10?? They've hiked ours up to £26!
Thanks so much for your replies, I've since spoken to Tesco and they have advised that as long as the vet stipulates that his new knee injury is nothing to do with his other knee injury then they will pay0
