Hiya, just hoping someone can help me.
We moved into a new property on the 4th January, submitted meter readings today and got the following bill:
Gas Charge
First 95.00 kWh x 7.688p
£7.30
Next 594.75 kWh x 4.316p
£25.67
Charge this period
£32.97
Electricity Charge
First 26 kWh x 20.951p
£5.45
Next 82 kWh x 12.744p
£10.45
Charge this period
£15.90
I am now looking to change to a cheaper supplier, but when i go into comparison websites its hard to work out what i spend as hopefully summer will be a LOT cheaper, is there anywhere i can compare cost per kWh rather than compare monthly spend?
HELP!!!! :wall:

Just use an average value, if you are say a 3 bed property with Gas CH, say 10,000Kwh Gas and 2,500 Kwh Electricity per year.
Comparing unit prices is tricky as you have seen, some tarrifs have standing charges and some have primary and secondary unit pricing. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

Are these figures correct based on what you have actually used in the last 12 days?
Almost 700kWh of gas, equivilent to 2.5kWh every hour of every day?
0ver 100kWh of electric, equivilent to 9kWh per day?
If they are correct, you might want to look at ways of cutting down consumption especially since it's actually been quite mild for most of this period (until last weekend)0 -
If you use a site such as Energyhelpline as featured on this site and select "I don't know my gas usage" and "I don't know my electricity usage" when it asks for current usage. Then you can enter the type of property you have and number of persons and type of usage.
Then on the next page it has
Simple Usage Estimator
Detailed Usage Estimator
where you can enter more info. This will give you a good guide. Unless you have lived in a similar size property before and have old bills this is possibly a reasonable option for you to get an idea of the costs and kWh per year0
