Purchased my rangemax quite a while ago.
Had the desktop plugged in and the laptop wireless for quite a few months now.
Today after a bit of a tidy up, the rangemax has been relocated to give the laptop a better signal.
So taking my "free" WPN111 I follow the instructions.
Install the software, reboot and plug in the WPN111. Follow the instructions, pick up the relevant router (SSID displayed just so I could), entered the WEP key, because it asked for one.
So that should be it.
But of course it isn't. The WPN111 is continually scanning, has no IP address, but has been giving out the MAC address, not at the moment though
It has gone green, with two bars on the signal strength, but then goes red again.
Any suggestions. I could go back to wired, but of course would rather a better signal for me:D

i use the inbuilt windows wireless tool, instead of the the crappy netgear software.
to use the inbuilt windows tool, go to network connections > right click on Wireless Network Connection > properties > wireless networks tab > tick the box that says 'Use windows to configure my wireless network settings'.
i find the windows software easier to use than the netgear rubbish0 -
yep, Windows wireless here as well, stops the drop outs and limited connection from my belkin adapter, I can right click on the Belkin icon and tell it to let XP manage the connectionEx forum ambassador
