EDF - Stay on Online Saver 7 or move to Blue + Price Priomise 2014

Hi

I find Gas and electric bills very hard to understand at the best of times and I am curently on the online saver 7 tariff, should I stay on this or move to the blue + price promise 2014 tariff?

I have done an online quote with edf and they have advised me that I am already on a great tariff but is this really the case or just edf trying to get me to stay on the tariff Im already on to give them more money?

I live in a one bedroomed masionette with gas central heating, gas hob and electric oven.

Any advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Modchick

One is a fixed tariff, one is variable, so you're comparing apples with pears. Which type do you want to go for?
Better to do a full market comparison using any comp site.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Online S@ver 7 ended in December 2011, you are probably on their Standard variable tariff it was an automatic switch when v7 ended. Online S@ver 7 was cheap in 2011 ( I was on it) so if you are still on it I would stay on it.
  • Hi

Yes sorry it has switched to the standard variable now.

Should I stay in this or should I take up the blue price promise offer until June 2014?

Same question applies-do you want a fixed or a variable tariff? Only you can decide. Whatever you do, get off Standard, as it's the most expensive.

  • Be aware you do not have to stay with EDF. If you are on their standard tariff this is far from 'great'. Use a comparison site and switch. In my area Sainsbury's energy Pricecheck Jan2014 looked the best variable tariff or Ovo for fixed.
