Have you shut down OE and re-started it since putting the files back?

    No I haven't,should I have done?

I am at the moment trying to send the emails from said folder to myself, but it is very slow, maybe the file is to big, should I stop the send and shut down and restart OE,?

If you have put the files back, it should sort itself out when you restart the program again.

I have closed down and restarted OE 3 times now, and the files/folders have not returned, do I need to actually restart the computer for it to sort out?

If you simply moved the Outlook Express folder by mistake to another location and have now put it back exactly as it was, all should be OK. AS your foldersa are not showing in OE, you will probably need to import them as described Step 1: Import messages from the backup folder

Have you checked that the displayed store folder path is exactly the same as you have re-created when viewed in Explorer? i.e. a space between Outlook and Express.
