Would it be of any use when painting matt over old silk or eggshell paint?
Tonight I decided to start stripping the paper off a wall (one of the few that hasn't been soundproofed
) to paint tomorrow night lol in a nice excited ' woohoo whole house makeover' mode and found the walls underneath to be silky.
I've got plenty of sugar soap to wipe them down and I can sand if I have to but I'll still need an undercoat or something anyway (the silky paint is an awful kinda stain colour lol) so wondered if this may be a good product to use?
not sure exactly what type of paint it is but it seems to be staining in places where I've rubbed over the paper with a wet sponge to make it easier to get off :- s
Any thoughts on the above product or what else I can do?

Zinsser BIN or 123. First is shellac based, second is waterbased. Both prime and seal. Both dry in about 15 minutes for overcoating purposes.
123+ is a different product, recently introduced as a stain killer as well. Significantly more expensive than cooking 123 which is what I think I'd be using but what area are you wanting to prep?
