Ha! they seem very anxious - I literally use the whole limit for my self employed stock each month and pay it off each month - twice they've tried to up me but I don't trust myself not to use the extra when I don't need to!0 -
Pop along to take a peek every so often and was in the same boat as some of you at the same time on here
cant believe how quickly the time as gone and how much happier I am now a days
I got a few letters off this vanquis, is it worth taking up to build credit rating, i just kept throwing them in the bin thinking it was some scam, the fear of debt i suppose hehe x glad to see you are all doing well and getting on ok x another year in march and it will be gone forever for me!!:j 0 -
At some point, you may need a mortgage or equally something which requires finance (business) so there is a benefit to having a Vanquis card to repair your credit. My Vanquis limit was upped to £2250 recently, but i use this card for my business so the whole amount is debited from our business account. Can't remember the last time it was used though. Also have a Flybe card with a £2750 limit ... this gets used every month for most purchases ... clothes, shopping, internet purchases etc. Again, balance paid in full and I only spend on there what I have in the bank already ... never really go over £1000 but the extra amount might be useful one day.
You need to learn how to trust yourself though ... I don't buy what I cant afford (which was partially the reason I went BR in 2007) and only use my card as a interest free period for purchases.
I've recently managed to obtain finance (at 5.3% apr) on a brand new van for my business (not limited co) with a main dealer which I thought would be nigh on impossible until 6 years, so I can only assume that the credit cards has increased my chances of obtaining credit.0
