Is anyone else finding it impossible to apply?
The online form crashes on the address search and the telephone number is constantly engaged, unsurprising really if it isn't possible to apply online.0 -
Spoke to mum again, the scheme was actually Warm Space and not Warm Front. A recent update on the Warm Space website provides an explanation of why funding dried up early.0

Warm Front will close this Saturday 19th January, no execptions, if you haven't applied by then, you won't get any help.
Loft and cavity wall insulation grants finished 4th January when the funding was pulled, anyone who has an appointment booked for a survey or the work to be done will NOT now get it for free.
A new scheme called the Green Deal will be launched end of January for insulation, solar, heat pumps, solid wall insulation etc, these will be funded as a loan to be paid back through your electricity meter.
I work for a local authority and already getting complaints as the agencies running these scheme are telling everyone to ring their local council, the council can't help as they with utility companies put money into these schemes run by outside agencies.
The scheme was always due to finish this month but no one was given a date till after it happened
Well I'll let you know next Thursday as I had an inspection yesterday and am expecting the guys to do my wall insulation next week: all of the paperwork says £0.
I was supposed to get a visit 28/12 but BG loused it up and let me wait in for 6 hours after a 125 miles round trip which was nice.
Luckily I'm not a BG customer!
I doubt it'll save me much as DD is £25 pcm Gas (although I do like the place warm and am currently snowed in! so it'll probably go up!) Inspector said the whole house will warm up far quicker so that'd be good.
I take it this scheme IS the same as the ones BG were giving away then?Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0 -
I applied in November for cavity wall insulation and was told due to how busy it was the installation wouldn't be until 8th February.
I received a letter yesterday from Absolute Insulation saying they cannot now do it due to the funding being stopped.
On my report it said total cost would have been £935 but I was paying £0. Their letter yesterday states the new price is £610 but as a goodwill gesture they will knock 50% off and charge me £305 for the work!
Their website isn't working, has anybody else been offered this?0 -
Just wanted to say I have just had a new central heating system installed under the Scottish equivalent of this scheme. They fitted it all last wednesday and it was done by British Gas and is covered by their homecare scheme for the first year.Just wanted to put a positive story out about the grant scheme as I don't feel in the least bit ripped off getting a Potterton combi boiler and 7 radiators fitted for nothing along with new thermostats, electronic timer switch, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms and all new loft insulation.Didn't cost me a penny and I'm wondering what the downside could possibly be to receiving that kind of help? I'm very grateful to the energy saving trust and glad to see the back of my old cold radiators and tiny water tank in the loft. what a difference it's made in my house.0
