Hi there,
If the car has been clocked that is a criminal offence. I would strongly recommend getting in touch with trading standards via the citizens advice consumer service (contact info on liverpool city council website).
I am currently in dispute with this dealership after they sold me a 3year old car which is in appalling condition, and was also misled on numerous issues (part ex value offered, tax disc, documentation for the vehicle).
I have been dealing with them for a few months and have been really shocked at just how devious and dishonest the peopleat this dealership are. It would not surprise me one bit if thry had clocked a car's mileage - they misrepresented mine on the finance paperwork.
Liverpool TS are v helpful. Good luck!0 -

Sorry for the mild sarcasm, but what was the condition of the car like when YOU CHOSE to BUY it..?
These Stoneacre people may be bad guys, I don't know, but it always bugs me when people go on about being sold things, you visited their garage and bought it, they didn't drop it off on your driveway and help themselves to cash from your bank account, presumably. And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
Thanks for the very helpful mild sarcasm.
For info, i had to get an AA report on the car after these charlatans pretended to repair it three times in the first month, which highlighted numerous essential repairs which would not be immediately obvious to the untrained eye. So no, not being a trained mechanic i didn't spot it. Apologies for my unforgivable failings there.
Furthermore, trading standards support my view that the car is not of satisfactory quality and i am entitled to return it.
So if it's all the same to you I'll stick with my assessment that they are deceitful, rude and dishonest. But many thanks for the snarky, condescending comment. You have to wonder about people defending companies selling unsafe cars on a consumer website...0 -
Hi H-O-O-S,
I apologise if I misunderstood, you didn't say the car had mechanical issues, you said appalling condition, which suggests scratches, dents, worn seats etc.
Please be assured that I was not defending them whatsoever.
For future reference though, as someone who has worked at various reputable main dealers since the 1980's, I can truly say that AA reports can bring mixed results, often the suggestions made are merely to justify the cost of the report, rather than serious faults. And that my son, is how to waft a towel!0 -
Thank you. Tbh i consider the gearbox packing in after a few weeks, the car being impossible to drive over 50mph (no fast roads nearby for test drive)due to severe vibration (that bad it'd give you pins & needles!) , oil leaks, serious geometry problems and unexplained suspension noise pretty damning!
On top of this, they lied about parts they claimed to have replaced when they were 'repairing' it, lied to me about it needing a tax disc (charged me 6 months then gave me a 4 month disc?!), lied about having fsh and MOT certificate, lied about how much i was getting for my old car (some deft sleight of hand with the finance figures bamboozled me in to believing what they told me - i.e. i was getting £300 more than i was - kicked myself when i realised they had stitched me up)
Im not one for disparaging companies without good reason but these people are total disgrace and a lot of recent complaints posted online suggest its not just me and its not just the liverpool branch. Very, very bad!0 -
Was the mileage reading in KM not Miles?
A lot of readers do this.. Picks up KM not miles.
79k miles 126,000 KM ??? That match?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Oh sorry just another point on the AA report - i take your point (its not cheap!) But a subsequent report by an engineer for the finance co backed up everything on the AA report (and confirm the parts had not been replaced as claimed.
Still hasnt persuaded the finance co to unwind but im working in it!!0 -
Can you get in touch with the previous owner and see if he remembers the mileage when he sold it.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Use this website to check the past MOT's and see if the mileage tallys up
