Paying off Next Store Card

Hi,

I was wondering if it is possible to pay off a Next store card using a credit card? There is a balance of around £2000 on it.
I was thinking of getting a 0% credit card and trying to do this, saving myself paying the interest to Next. I haven't had a credit before and I don't think my credit rating is that good as I haven't actually had much credit before.

Hoping someone can advise me what is best to do.

Thanks.

I don't think you can balance transfer over to a next card, so you'd be best looking for a card that offers 0% on purchases. This way you can pay it off like a normal payment and then pay off the credit card at your leisure.

If you haven't had a credit card before then I doubt that you'll get one with the limit you want and unlikely that you'll get a card with a 0% deal....best to try first with your own bank first....

Not sure if it helps but we pay our next online account by credit card every month which sometimes comes to at least £1000. We got rid of the store card some years ago as the interest rates were excessive.

It's not classed as a store card but as a catalogue account, even when you have the card on it. You can pay it by credit card directly as a purchase, no fees and standard interest free period (or extended interest free if it's an intro offer).

This won't work if you get a balance transfer offer; afaik you can't BT it across, it has to be a purchase one, such as the Tesco credit card with 16 months 0% purchases.

Incidentally, if you did get one of these, the best way to maximise your points is to use the 0% credit card to buy gift cards from Tesco in multiples of £50, thereby gaining an extra 150 clubcard points on every £50, and using these to pay your next account!

Indeed, but this would more than likely cost more, so would onle be beneficial if you need the longer 0% period, if applicable.
