Hi Guys
I have just booked a one week holiday in Turkey (Dalyan) in July.
We are going self catering to bring down the cost of food a tad, but was just wondering if anyone has been recently, and what they would consider to be a comfy budget for a week??
Please bear in mind we do like the beer!!!
Many Thanks

Not a direct answer to your question as i havent been on any type of package holiday for years but my son is looking for a hol in july.
He has ben looking at all inclusive and can get a week in turkey AI for around £500, if as you say you like the beer doesnt that make sense and much easier to bufget0 -
Hi, unfortunately my other half is a bit of an explorer and the thought of him staying in the hotel for a whole week is a complete turn off for him!! He likes to keep things varied! Plus a lot of the turkey AI's tend to be in the middle of nowhere, so not a choice of popping out in the evening for a change!!0

if you haven't already, check out the Turkey forum on Tripadvisor.
You'll proably get good advice on bars and restaurants too.
We've not stayed in the Dalyan area but in Turgutreis on the BodrumPeninsular last year, main courses were between 20TL & 30TL (but bigportions). OH had a fab 14oz fillet steak with wedges, mushrooms and onions for33TL.
I can't remember price of a beer but wine was quite expensive at 25 - 30TLfor an OK 70cl bottle of red - expensive compared with house wine in Greece at 3.5 eurofor half litre.
We paid around 100 - 120 TL for 2 main meals (couldn't eat any more!), bottle of wine and several G&Ts.
Maybe B&B or S/C isn't a cheap option compared to AI, but we did have some really great Turkish food.

Dalyan is a popular place, and has it's own active forum on TA...

I meant that, Pete, but probably didn't make myself clear.
I think most places have their own forum, I check out the Agia Marina sub-forum on the Chania Prefecture sub-forum on the Crete forum sometimes.0 -
