Problem with Safari after update on Iphone 4

Hi,
I have an iPhone 4 with the iOS version 6.0.1 which I updated a few days ago. Since the update, Safari will not work. When I click on Safari it shows but then the homepage does not load. It won't allow me to enter web address or anything.
Does this happen to anyone else, and if so how do I fix it?
