Yaris Warning Light?

My V reg Toyota Yaris was parked for 4 days while I was away last week. On starting it on my return it is showing an orange warning light on the dash...looks like a squashed orange with a cap on the top and bottom 
don't know how else to describe it!
Anyway handbook says 'engine management light' Had the car serviced yesterday but that has not helped; my garage say it may have to go to Toyota which given my one and only experience with them means MEGA bucks.
Can anyone out there tell me what it is so if I end up at Toyota I don't look like a complete 'walkover girl'!

sounds like one of the engine sensors has failed, they might just need removing and cleaning...Ex forum ambassador
