Indeed. I chose not to have any, and had no problem volunteering the information if the conversation was heading that way.Nelly's other Mr. Hyde0 -
Only if you want to: I don't think a reasonable employer would regard me as a 'bad risk' when I just have an annual scan, don't even SEE my consultant any more ...hmmm well having both (only just I am 40;) ), the council has certainly rang me before querying more details about my benign tumour (had got job as relief school dinner lady) I wonder too. BUT I think I can be discharged next year,it'll be 6 years after op. Another reason to put job hunting off for another year.
And I'd only disclose if asked: SINCE the op my sick record is as good as anyone else's!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I have other reasons for not wanting to return to work for another year. I want to complete my courses at college, so I've got as far as I can go without going for a HND, degree etc, which I'm not interested in doing. It gives me a...... sshhhhh....... year off to myself  for the first time in 7.5 yearsOnly if you want to: I don't think a reasonable employer would regard me as a 'bad risk' when I just have an annual scan, don't even SEE my consultant any more ...

and means my daughter gets a years worth of me being there before and after school and in the holidays something my son has always had. DH is project managing a new IT system at his work and it will be difficult for him getting time off work for the last 6 months of next year and my FIL retires meaning it's easier for my MIL to step in at times of emergency (she doesn't drive and has mobility problems). Being able to say not under the care of a consultant is an added bonus.:D 0 -

Nope, I wouldn't regard you as a bad risk. Lasses heading for being preggers in less than a year is though, not to mention they always want to come back to work flexible hours - usually they offer to work every third Wednesday in a month, for a shift of 9.30 - 1.30 and then wonder why we can't accomodate it
All my singles and childfrees are starting to get annoyed at how the people with families can never work an anti social shift...citing family responsibilities ...and seriously, some of them now start to feel that there is discrimination against those with no children.
Just goes to show you can't even please some of the people some of the time!0
