Help - What an I do with essential oils?
Comments

I put it directly onto our carpet as it's dark flecked so doesnt show up. I also put it on door mat, dogs bed (she can stink!) and as said before, on something on a radiator. I also put it in water and give it a damn good shake for roomspray that I also use on the sofa like fabreeze and curtains.Married the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140

If you have essential oil (not fragrance) add a drop or two to your bath or shower - lovely. I use mine in the same way as blossomhill, but my base is Aqueous cream which I use as a shower gel - the oils are the 'smelly' part - a fraction of what you pay for shower gel/bath foams & much better.0

I hear a drop or two on light bulbs can make rooms smell nice when the lights are on.0

Following on from this, does anybody know where you can get cheap but good essential oils? I seem to remember the Works used to sell them back in the day, but can't find them there any more. Any ideas?0

Different flavour essential oils do different things, I would check the flavour first. Is it jasmine ? (*wistfully)
Has anyone suggested making up a massage oil using the essential oil in a base?
The other oils, depends what they are - if just for burners quite limited.0 -
essential oils are healthy and make great room fresheners, all of the ways described are fine and won't either hurt you or fill your head with mad chemically concocted smells : for a spray, if you don't want to use vodka (though when the boozy smell goes, so have the stinky ones too) then use a tablespoon full of bicarbonate of soda in warm water and a few drops of oil in a clean skooshy bottle - excellent stuff for air and fabric smalls, and even doggy (labrador)ones..plus you do get to feel throughly smug!0

if you've got eucalytus, peppermint or tea-tree, you cake make a decongestant to help a heavy cold. Put some drops into a bowl, pour over hot water then cover your head with a towel & breathe in the fumes created by the steam.
Caution - don't put your face too close to the hot bowl.
You could also make a steam cleanse with nicer smelling oils

I dilute some with water in a tea light holder and sit it on top of the radiator, lovely smell!0

I put some lavender oil in the washing machine with the powder. This is because it's antibacterial and when you wash at 40 C all the germs are not washed away. If you put in some lavender oil you know the clothes and the machine are clean.
