dla rates from april

  • Hi, yes I can see your reason for calculating the way you do, but the OP assumed there are 5 weeks in each month and was basing his expected income on that figure.

It's all very confusing if you're not 100% comfortable with figures. One of my neighbours insisted she paid nearly £500 more in Council Tax and Water Rates than I do, even though we live in identical bungalows. As I explained, we pay these for 10 months every year, not 12 so she now feels quite rich! :j

    - no problem SandraScarlett
    - I could and perhaps should have been clearer
    - I calculated how much per week as in 52 times something

People keep correcting me saying its paid 4 weekly, but I did not say it wasn't, I simply left it as a week multiplied by 52 paid in whatever multiples of £42:00 people are paid at.

    - £5:98 a day
    - £42:00 a week
    - etc

DLA is paid every 28 days. I have my calendar set for this and know the date each month when I receive it. Works for me. :)

Edit: To demonstrate, my next payment is 05/02, payment after is 05/03. February has 28 days, therefore for two months in the whole year calendar I get payment on the same date. :) April's payment is 2nd and also 30th. Every 28 days.

With a new grandson I'm sure my daughter will sucker me somewhere. :) And I also forgot to add the caveat about leap years in February which I'm sure I'll get pulled on but hey ho. :)
  • I always work out my DLA payments by multiplying the weekly amount by 4, and thats the easiest way to do it, I get £77.45 now so 77.45x4=£309.80 which is the exact amount I get every 4 weeks, and in April £79.15pw x4=£316.60 so that amount will go into my account every 4 weeks.

I don't understand all the times and divides and adds that is posted here, yes there is a month where 2 payments will be made but those payments are still 4 weeks apart.
