Laptop missing letters

Hi
My laptop is about 18 months old.
The last week or so whenever im typing it has started missing odd letters and its really annoying!Im constantly having to back over the type and add in the missing letters
Its not the same letter and it doesnt appear its coz they are sticking
Any suggestions what i can do/what it could be?
