Benefits after JSA stops - advice needed

I am currently claiming JSA for the past 6 months and also receive housing benefit, child benefit, child tax credits, council tax benefit. I have 2 children and my husband is vietnamese (I'm english). I haven't been able to find work and have been signed on since june. Now my husband has found work at a nail shop (he's been looking for something else but was unable to find work). I now want to sign off as I'm no longer looking for work but am worried about what will happen to our benefits as I've been told JSA inform housing benefits when you sign off and they automatically get stopped. My husband will only start getting paid a month later as first he's getting training but then it's cash in hand work. Can I register him as self employed? Citizens advice bureau in bristol have not been helpful at all, I'm trying to do the right thing, getting it all above board but it's so difficult. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cash in hand work is likely to problematic particualrly if he has a training period. Anticipate that they will dump him as soon as the training period is over.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Yes the JSA inform the Housing that you have signed off. So if you are on low income then you have to contact the Housing and make a new claim which will be income based. You may still be eligible for financial help.0
