I have income protection insurance, car and buildings and contents. Everything i have is covered under one of those policies.
Most things come with a 12 month warranty anyway and im pretty sure you could argue if a tv or washer broke after 18 months it wasnt fit for purpose as you expect it to last longer than that.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. For me it is a simple question of value for money versus risk.
I have never bought an extended warranty and also never taken PPI.
I can insure unlimited home buildings, £50k contents, including AD on both, annual travel, home emergency, legal expenses etc for £170. I am comfortable paying that for the security it gives.0 -

I am on the lookout for a building plot (but cannot find a location that matches our current one) and although my life would be improved by a demolish and rebuild, I just can't accept the poor value of doing that (I'm a chartered quantity surveyor). But if my house was burnt down I hopefully eventually would see the silver lining and build my ideal house on my (already) ideal location.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
My pet insurance doubled for my 2 dogs so I cancelled it and now put £30 in a separate account each month. I have only ever had the required insurances - car, house, contents. All other insurances / warranties (except life) are for the benefit of one party only and it certainly isn't the consumer.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
