Table for car boot sale

I'm heading off for my first boot sale tomorrow, and wondered if anyone had advice on tables. Folding decorating tables seem to be the thing to use, but unfortunately that's not something I own. I can rent them for £6 on site, but that is too expensive. I would rather buy one and sell it on after a couple of sales.
Any advice, or info on where to buy in London ?

Cheers

B&Q, Homebase are probably worth a try?

Or a plastic garden table would do the job!

Ok thanks - cheapest I can find is just under £9 from B&Q, but as that was the first place I looked I'm inclined to think they can be had for less !
  • My advice would be don't buy the very cheapest ones with just a hinge in the middle and no support there - those are too flimsy. It's worth spending a few quid extra on one with slightly thicker legs and diagonal supports to stop it sagging in the middle.
If you do use one of the cheap flimsy ones, don't even think about putting any breakable valuables on it.
  • As mentioned a plastic garden table or a cheap outdoor wooden table so you could use it outside after you'd finished with it. Or how about some large sturdy cardboard boxes - you could always put a cloth over them.
  • Or you could buy a table from somewhere that does easy returns and take it back!

  • I use a plastic patio table works well and the legs come off for easy transport. do any of your friends/family/neighbours have anything you can borrow save buying one?

Thanks for all the advice. Unfortunately I don't have a garden, so garden furniture is out, and friends couldn't help out. I ended up buying the cheapest decorating table from B&Q before reading Mild Perils post .. However it will not be supporting breakables.

Now I hope the rain stays off for the afternoon.

    Cheers
