The following additional terms and conditions form part of the promotion information for the above promotion, and should be read in conjunction with Discovery’s Competition General Terms and Conditions:

1. By entering this competition, the entrant will be deemed to have read and understood these rules and to have agreed to be bound by them.

2. The competition is open to UK residents excluding employees of Promoter and their families, the Promoter's agents or anyone professionally associated with the promotion. Only one entry per person.

3. Entrants must be 18 years old and over. Proof of identification may be required at the request of the Promoter.

4. Entrants expressly declare and represent that (i) they submit to English law and jurisdiction in participating in this competition; (ii) they are individuals and not a company or any professional and/or commercial entity;

5. The competition will run from 14/01/2013 to 15/04/2013. The closing time and date for receipt of entries is 23:59 on 15/04/2013.

6. By entering, the winner agrees to participate in any publicity or promotional activities as may be reasonably required by the Promoter. Further the Promoter reserves the right to use the name and local area of the winner in any publicity.

7. Method of Entry: The competition can be entered for free online via the Promoter’s website www.discoveryuk.com. Entrants will be required to answer one multiple choice question.

8. The prize:

8.1. There is one Grand Prize which consists of the following:

• A kite-surfing trip for two to Cadiz including:
o Return flights for two people to Gibraltar
o Return transfers from the airport to the hotel
o 4 Nights accommodation at the Koala Apart Hotel in Tarifa
o 2 day Kite Surfing tuition for 2 people
o Travel insurance

8.2. For the avoidance of doubt, in relation to the Prize:

8.2.1. Transfers between winner’s home and airports shall not be included in the Prize.

8.2.2. Spending money shall not be included in the Prize.

8.2.3. This Prize cannot be combined with any other discount or promotion, does not apply to airfare optional extras, applicable in-country fees or meals and flights unless where indicated as an integral part of the tour. The Prize is completely non-transferable, non-refundable, and is only valid as a prize for the Ice Climbing in Iceland competition as advertised. The Prize has no alternative monetary value.

8.2.4. The Prize must be booked and the first day of the trip must be before 15 April 2014.

8.2.5. The Prize must be taken before the date indicated above and will be subject to availability and blackout periods determined by the airline in their sole discretion as well as all other terms and conditions imposed by such parties. Travel is subject to availability at the discretion of the Promoter and excludes Christmas, New Year, Valentines, Easter, School Holidays and Bank Holidays (both UK and Gibraltar).

8.2.6. The hotel is classed as 4 star and is based on two adults sharing a twin or double room (winner’s choice) with en-suite bathroom on a room only basis.

8.2.7. Kite surfing course is a available for beginners, intermediate and advanced depending on your ability. Every kite surfing course includes the latest equipment and insurance cover. Walkie talkies are used to maintain student/instructor communication whilst you are kite boarding out on the water. Meeting takes place at 10.30 am from the Kite Surfing office. From there depending on the conditions and the weather forecast, they decide which location to go to in order to do the course.

8.2.8. Travel insurance is subject to normal terms of acceptance. Pre-existing medical conditions may not be covered. No age restrictions apply.

8.2.9. The plane tickets included in the Prize will not qualify for air-miles programmes of any airline company. Once the plane tickets have been issued, they will not be modified except by the Promoter or the airline.

8.2.10. The winner will forgo the Prize in totality if the winner fails to attend the scheduled flight, and the Promoter and all prize sponsors/providers shall have no further obligation to winner.

8.2.11. The winner shall be solely responsible for any other expense incurred by the winner which has not been expressly undertaken by the Promoter in these terms and conditions, including but not limited to, visas and passports expenses and fees, airport taxes, applicable personal taxes arising in any jurisdiction, vaccination expenses, other types of insurance, travel authorisations, additional trips, country entry and exit fees and taxes, tips, personal expenses, food and beverages and any entrance fees for local attractions.

8.2.12. The winner and guest are solely responsible for complying with applicable regulations of their respective countries of residence, and host country and obtaining the necessary documentation for the trip, including but not limited to passports, visas and other permits, and vaccinations as required by the host country. The winner will not be eligible for the Prize if the winner is not able to secure the necessary travel documents such as passport and/or visa for any reason whatsoever, in time for scheduled travel. There shall be no replacement or substitute prize or any other form of compensation, and the Promoter may in its sole discretion determine whether to select another winner.

8.2.13. The winner acknowledges that the nature of the trip involves some degree of physical exertion. It is the winner’s own responsibility to acquaint him/herself with all possible relevant travel information and the nature of the itinerary. The winner acknowledges that the decision to travel is made in light of consideration of this information and winner accepts that he/she is aware of the personal risks attendant upon such travel.

8.2.14. The winner agrees that they undertake the trip stated in the Prize at their own risk. The winner understands that the Prize is being made available to the winner on condition that the winner will hold safe the Promoter from any claims or liability arising from any loss or damage, injuries, illness, loss or expenses arising from the trip or any part of the Prize.

9. Selection of the winner:

9.1. The draw will take place on [Monday 22nd April]. The winner will be contacted by post, telephone or email within 2 days of the draw. The winner must claim their prize within 10 days of the notification. If the Prize is unclaimed after this time, it will lapse and the Promoter reserves the right to offer the unclaimed prize to a substitute winner selected in accordance with these terms and conditions.

9.2. The Prize will be awarded to the first entry drawn at random from all valid entrants who have answered the question correctly. The decision of the judge will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

10. The Promoter reserves the right to terminate or modify the competition, modify these terms and conditions prior to the closing date, vary details of the Prize, or substitute a Prize of equivalent value should unforeseen circumstances require it. The Promoter is entitled to terminate or modify the competition or to modify these rules prior to the closing date by prior notice.

11. The Prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable and non-refundable and there is no cash alternative in whole or in part. The Prize is subject to availability and in the event of circumstances outside of its control the promoter reserves the right to substitute a similar or alternative prize of equal or greater value. The Prize must be taken by the winner unless agreed otherwise in writing by the Promoter.

12. The decision of the Promoter will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.

13. Entries that are incomplete or late or those not in accordance with all the entry instructions are invalid. All submitted entries are the property of the Promoter and will not be returned.

14. No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.

15. By entering the competition all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Data Controller (as defined in the Data Protection Act 1998) for the purposes of the administration of this promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. 16. The Promoter cannot accept any responsibility for any damage, loss, injury or disappointment suffered by any participant entering the competition or as a result of accepting any prize. The Promoter is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any computer on-line systems, servers, or providers, computer equipment or software, failure of any email or entry to be received on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the internet, or at any website, including any injury to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in the competition. Nothing shall exclude the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury as a result of its negligence.
