Hi
I recently purchased another 512mb of memory, it seems to be the same brand and size as the stick I already have in my machine, but I am not sure if it is being picked up as my computer does not appear to be any faster and when I run everest home edition system information it stills says my memory is 512mb, below is what it tells me:
CPU Type Intel Pentium 4, 2800 MHz (21 x 133)
Motherboard Name Unknown
Motherboard Chipset ATI Radeon 9100 Pro IGP
System Memory 512 MB (PC3200 DDR SDRAM)
BIOS Type Award (06/30/04)
Does anyone have any ideas as to why it is not working, or is thier any other way to check to see if it is being picked up?
Thanks

have you tried just the new stick in the original slot on its own to see if it works ??
while you have it open look for serial numbers for the motherboard or post what make/model PcEx forum ambassador

Have you made sure that both can work in unison? Some brands of RAM (Notably Crucial require that in order for both sticks to work in unison they have to be paired, which is done at the manufacters')

If what you are saying was true, you would have to discard the original memory module and buy two matched modules from Crucial to expand. Not true!
