Hi,if anyone out there has been succsesfull in reclaiming bank charges,can you tell me how long it took from the date you first applied to when you recieved your money.I started my reclaim procedure on 24/02/07,i have recieved four letters back,the latter saying they are still investigating my claim!!!..please advise.

I have so far got 11 companies i have decided to claim back charges from. So far i have been successful with 3. They are all different stages. I won my first claim with Alliance and Leciester bank.
I sent my initial 40 day letter on the 19th January and recd my charges list on the 10th February.
I asked for these charges to be refunded in my letter sent on 12th February giving 14 days to respond. I recd a letter saying !!!!!! off on the 16th February.
I percervered and sent my third letter, advising of court action on the 19th february giving a final 7 days to respond. I rec'd another letter stating they would not refund charges on 23rd feb. I began my online claim on 28th Feb and on the 17th March rec'd a cheque for the full amount.
It really does work, you just have to stick to the timescales set out in the template letters.
