Why not Google the printer make/model number? 24V DC required but what current? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

What printer is it? Have a look on e-bay if you know the make and the model0

Its a receipt printer - not a normal one, have searched ebay but nothing.
Its a IBM Suremark 4610 (T14)
And i dont know what current - heres the PDF Manual if thats any help.
And i am using the RS232 connection.
Cheers

There are dc connectors that are the same as these plugs. I would be tempted to make up my own cable using the +24 & ground pins and try it on any old 24v transformer. I wouldn't worry too much about the current to test that it switches on. The only thing is when it is using power while printing and if the transformer can hold the voltage. Can't see it needing more than an 1 amp though.Nudge nudge, Wink wink, Say No More!0

RS or Farnell are usually good sources for connectors, try searching on there. As it's low voltage you should be able to make up your own if nothing can be found.0

Ok, thank you!
Now for my next question, how would i go about making a cable? Sorry, im really !!!!!! at this!0 -
You need to source a suitable plug and then wire it up to a 24V DC power supply (not any old 24V transformer as stated above by wakendem). A shop like Maplin may be able to help you, if you can't solder etc. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

So, i'd need something like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-Uniross-Un...QQcmdZViewItem
That will only supply a maximum of 12V DC. You need 24V DC. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
