I got the email on 30th Jan to say I would be getting the 1,000 points by 22nd Feb. As the points were not showing today I replied to this email politely asking if there was a delay?
I received a very prompt reply within an hour to say they would be credited by 24th which is a satisfactory outcome.

When did you rent the movies? Which date please?

be prepared for disappointment then...on hotukdeals a lot of us applied at least 5 or 6 days before you and its not looking too good, hope I'm wrong, but the whole thing appears to be turning into another Tesco farce.

I signed up on the 16th as per the T&Cs but haven't had any confirmation since, so logged a query with Blinkbox and they confirm there is a 'glitch' even though I am qualified. Points to be added soon they said (hopefully).

Hope this helps anyone in a similar situation. :)
  • I rented two movies mid morning on 15 Jan and Blinkbox have confirmed I qualified but points not yet added, see below

***Please note that we have checked in our system using your Tesco Clubcard number "xxxxxxxx" and your are qualified for the promotion.

Rest assured that you will receive the points but due to technical glitch the points have not been added to your Clubcard yet. We are working on getting this fixed and will add the points as soon as the issue is resolved.

Apologies for the inconvenience this might have caused.

Please feel free to contact us back if you have any questions or need further clarification.***
  • they are now saying if eligible, points will be added by cutoff date for May clubcard

They said a couple of days in the email I have just had back, I am certainly impressed with their response times.

  • My beef is this - I signed up via the promotional link (blinkbox.com/clubcard) on 16th Jan and was 'accepted' - ie, they LET me sign up for the promotion. If the 15,000 had already expired then they'd be aware of that when I signed up, and I'd rather be greeted with a 'sorry but this over is now fully subscribed to' screen to save me wasting cash on films with the impression I'd be receiving 1,000 points for my efforts.

If there's no way of knowing I'd managed it, then surely that's a competition then, not a promotion?!

Anyway, I've asked Blnkbox where my points are and we'll see what they say.
  • Nope, still no 1000 points in my account and we are now February 25th, 3 days after the original deadline. Fiasco?

    Hey all,
Update : I have been checking my clubcard statement until today and I haven't got the points. I've emailed Blinkbox support team to ask for clarification about this mess.
It clearly is a blunder on blinkbox part. Firstly, there are too many criteria for "qualifying". One must me amongst the "first 15000 (extended from 10000) people to register using the correct link and then rent at least 1 full movie (£3.49) and 1 other movie (any cost) before 8th Feb (extended from 28th Jan) to get 1000 clubcard points".

To me it looks like that Tesco did not "turn off" registration link when 15000 people had registered. And now there are too many who have registered and spent at least £4.48 in expectation of points.

Well, this is not the first Tesco-points blunder anyway !! lol

    Gia.
