A cosy corner with a squishy sofa - means you get kids hanging around, talking to you whilst you cook, somewhere to have a cuppa when it's been raining for days, the washing machine is running and there's football on in the living room, somewhere to sit and do the ironing without traipsing clothes all over the house.....and don't forget space for a dog basket.

Other than that, a full length cupboard for the mop, broom, ironing board, etc, a million plus sockets and a double sink. And a great view of the garden.

That was my kitchen in my old house big table, big sofa , dog basket, computer , tv, book shelves and double sized patio doors to the garden

Lived in that room, was just pure perfection

This one I have the perfect cooking area, I have the doors opening out to the garden and the fields, have the table and tv, just no comfy area and the dog prefers my bed :rotfl:

Hi all, This is a really useful thread as I am planning a new kitchen at the moment. I would also be interested in things you wish you had done differently? Is there anything that you don't really use...bit gimmicky? And what can you not live without?

The inverse to what you asked....I was not keen on a fridge with a water and ice dispenser but dh was. We got one, and I love it. I am very fussy about water and previously have hated the taste of fridge water, but this is fine (it's filtered) and its much less of a faff than filling a filter jug several times a day and cheaper for us to buy the filters that bottled water to feed my nice tasting water habit.

I am really impressed with it and am glad I was indulgent to dh, because it's super.
