Would an OAP on basic state pension lus pension credit be able to claim any help with moving from a council home to a housing association property. They have no savings. Thanks in advance

I can't think that there is anything specific that they can claim. Maybe a crisis loan from DWP would be the solution.
When I moved a couple of years ago, I hired a man (2 men) and a van and it cost all of £200."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
If the reason for the move is to ease exceptional pressure then consider a community care grant. If the OAP is in receipt of guarantee pension credit then this is a qualifying benefit. CCG's are nto repayable.
If this does not work then possibly a budgeting loan.

Might be worth approaching the Housing Association concerned as they sometimes have access to grants, also Age Concern may be able to give advice, also Social Services. :cool:0

Thanks Benefitbaby and Bollotam, I will investigate. Poppasmurf "all of £200" is fine if you have that amount of money, this person does not which is why I am seeking advice.0

That's why I suggested a 'man and van'. £200 is much cheaper than the £600 Pickfords quoted. If these people don't have any money, how did they expect to move in the first place?"There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. Maybe they are not "expecting" to, maybe they have to for health reasons?0
