Liebherr fridge freezer problems

Options
Hi all, quick question on my rights... We bought a liebherr fridge freezer 3 years ago.. Since we have had it nothing but problems. Contacted customer services whilst it was under warranty, they came and fixed it free of charge... Since its been out of warranty it's broke down twice, same part on both occasions, a pcb. As a good will gesture liebherr has sent an engineer to fix the problem, parts only... I was supposed to pay the labour, but I refused as we have lost £££'s in defrosted food each time the freezer has broke down. Anyway today it packed in again!! Freezer defrosted... Help.... Is there anything I can do? I have records of all 4 faults...

Any advice most welcome!

Firstly, I would suggest you read MSE's How to Complain article.

Did you buy direct from the manufacturer?
If not, then maybe you should divert your attention towards whoever sold the thing to you.

How much is a pcb and engineer?
The Sale of Goods Act asks that an item like this be fit for use for a 6 year period OR "economically repairable within that time" (i.e. if it going to cost £30 to repair then you have no case - but if it is going to cost £300 then you do)

The Sale of Goods Act says nothing like that.

Might be a good idea for you too to read that article I mentioned.
Also read MSE's Consumer Rights document.
  • Item was bought from a shop, I went to them first and they said contact liebherr direct as the warranty was with liebherr.

I'll look through the link you suggested..

    Thanks .
