internet explorer prob

can anyone please help?
not sure whats gone wrong?? when i click on internet explorer icon it wont connect to internet? also my yahoo mail is the same?? the only way i can get on internet is with microsoft outlook,
please if anyone can help im not tech minded so easy steps please.

all fixed now, if anyone else gets this problem just re install internet explorer,

If you go to 'start' & then 'connect to' you shpould see your internet connection. Click connect. If this works then you are on the internet. Also check that explorere is not set to 'work offline' under 'file' tab . You could try another browser such as opera, & see if that works

have you checked that the connection you are using is set as the default in the connections tab of internet options? also that the option to always dial my default connection is selected?
if you are using a lan ( mostly used for cable company connections) then check the settings for that in the same tab.
