Will my electricity still be on?
Hi,
I am moving in to a new place and wondered if the electricity will still be on from the previous tenant? It's one of those meters you use a pre-paid card on. Or will I have to call them to get it switched on?
I had a meter in the past and think it was just a case of topping up, but can't quite remember. Did try calling Npower but it said I would be waiting forty-five minutes, so lets see if the forum is quicker than their customer services
Thanks.

it will still be on if the old tenant left enought credit on it. remember dont use any key left behind call the supplier first, thell them you have moved in a give them an opening meter reading. it is possible there could be debt on the meter from the previous occupant and you dont want to be paying that.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

It wont be a card, unless its one was nt updated 8 year ago. They are plastic keys. Phone supplier for a new one in your name. I think you can also get a blank one from the shop and then register that key with the supplier, either way you have got to bite the bullet and get through to Npower at some time0
