Homested Garage in Westerleigh (lots of landrovers, but do any cars) are brilliant. Run by two brothers and they never rip you off. I can personally recommend them. tel no is 01454 323753.
Could be good for you Meatballs? Also know a really good tyre man in Yate!

Cool, moving at the end of the month, but I think my MOT's up soon after that :)
  • I need to put my VW Golf, 1.6 automatic in for its MOT which expires in August.

I am pretty certain there is a leak in cooling system and issues with 'sticky' gearbox.

Anyone know where its best to try and get it Mot'd and serviced. Also does anyone have an idea of wot probs in this area can cost??

I live in the Redfield/St.George/Barton Hill Area of Bristol if that helps. Have thought about going to garage on Pennywell Road in st.judes and f1 autocentres in st.phillips marsh (a4), anyone know if they are any good? Also anyone know how good the kwik fits r in bristol?

    Any help greatly appreciated.
    :)

I have used the Kwik Fit on Whiteladies Road and they seemed ok but I have since discovered S F Tebby & Son - just off the top of Whiteladies who are much better and definitely won't con you - i took them my car thinking i need new brakes and they phoned to tell me it was just the adjustor needed tweaking and just charged me the labour - could have easily told me i'd needed much more doing! :)

I've used F1 in St Phillips and not had any problems. I've used Kwik Fit on Whiteladies Road with no probs but my dad had major problems with them. I've used Kwik Fit in Patchway and they were a nightmare

Bedminster Road Garage is fair and honest, On the one way system at Bedminster Down, on the bend by the traffic lights.
  • A1 Autocentres in St Phillips were good but they have now lost the lease on their building. However, the man who ran it has gone solo and works out of Staple Hill. Very reasonable and trustworthy.
  • :j For the past couple of years I have used Advanced Vehicle Services in Keynsham and Tunley, Bath. Always reasonable an friendly.

I have used MIKE MADGE in longwell green for a long time, very honest family man, near to retirement, been there years, wont con you, he even will get his co worker to run you home if your car will be there for a while.

Also i managed to get a free MOT with my insurance this year with kwik fit,, was worried about going elsewhere, i went to kwik fit on fishponds road and the only fail was a windscreen wiper what they sorted out, it cost about a tenner,,result, so id recommend them as well. good luck :-)
